The Phantom of the Opera, Andrew Lloyd Webber’s landmark musical, came to Ljubljana as a spectacular Slovenian premiere in the programme of the 73rd Ljubljana Festival. Presented at Cankarjev dom for a limited season, the production carries the familiar story of Christine Daaé and the mysterious figure beneath the Paris Opera House through a world of grand stage pictures, theatrical illusion and romantic darkness.
The Ljubljana presentation brought together Festival Ljubljana, Cankarjev dom, Broadway Entertainment Group, Vigna PR, Koda Events and The Really Useful Group, with the international production shaped by music, choreography, design and technical craft on a large scale.
